Is it Good Enough? Courageous Leap!

I’ll soon be deactivating the ‘Coming Soon’ mode and BarbaraSennrich.com will be live. That means that I will be truly out there. Not just a little bit via Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook. No, I made a conscious decision to write a blog and launch a website.

Is it Good Enough? Am I Good Enough?

I’m having mixed feeling about it. On the one hand I’m glad that I followed my impulse when I decided to start a blog, build a home for my fearless force speech and community building activities. I know I have a story and many lessons learnt to share. I know that we all inspire each other to go deeper and go further when we help create a safe environment. When we are being vulnerable and open and honest and share how we made it to the other side.

On the other hand, I can’t help but wonder if it will be good enough. What will people think? Am I being arrogant for thinking that I have something valuable to offer? Are my story and blog posts interesting and inspiring enough? Am I interesting and inspiring enough? Am I good enough?

Work in Progress

Here I’m sharing my own experiences and lessons learnt. I’m sharing my own journey. It’s a continuum as I will always be learning. And therefore it’s work in progress. That’s the whole point of all this. I will never be done. I will never reach destination ‘good enough’. Because good enough is not a destination. Good enough is right here. It is not something we need to attain, it’s something we already have and already are. Work in progress means continuing to develop, continuing to learn, continuing on the journey.

So I’m making it a point that this website is work in progress. Hence it’s good enough the way it is, it’s good enough to go live.

Done is Better than Perfect

Of course, there are a number of ways to make it better. But let’s face it – done is better than perfect. I don’t know how many times I thought something wasn’t yet ready, not perfect, and therefore it never saw the light of day. Instead, this time I’ve committed to being courageous, taking a leap of faith and just go for it. It’s about developing and learning and the best way to do that is to start right here and right now. Because it is good enough just the way it is. And so I deactivate the coming soon mode and put myself out there, knowing that I am inspiring others on their own work in progress journey.
